Nephila madagascariensis nymph spiderlings, 2 days old.
10.30.98
Emerging slowly from the cocoon, the nymph spiderlings remain huddled close together the first few days. A few intrepids set out to explore the new world. A Nephila cocoon can contain 300 spiderlings. The nymphs are the size of a pinhead when they hatch.
